The Fundación Salvadoreña para el Desarrollo Económico y Social (FUSADES) (FUSADES) is a think tank and development center in El Salvador. It was founded in 1983 by independent Salvadoran businessmen and professionals. Since then, it has been dedicated to studying and proposing public policies to improve the quality of life for Salvadorans. FUSADES is an independent, academic organization. In the last three decades, it has developed five five-year economic and social development plans, which have served as input for various public policies. It has also dedicated itself to the publication of academic material, among others, on the rule of law, ensuring the democratic integrity of the country. Finally, the foundation fosters economic development in favor of creating opportunities for micro and medium enterprises.
