On 24 August 2022, the 1st panel of Asia Centre’s 7th International Conference: ‘Freedom of Expression in Asia’ was convened by Council of Asian Liberals and Democrats (CALD). The panel, titled ‘Freedom of Expression Under Assault: Political Persecution and Democratic Decline in Asia’ comprised Mardi Seng of Candlelight Party, Terry Xu of The Online Citizen and Peifen Hsieh of Democratic Progressive Party. The panel was moderated by Celito Arlegue from Council of Asian Liberals and Democrats.
