More than 60 observers from 26 countries deployed across Tunisia this week to observe Saturday’s parliamentary elections. Their work is part of the Center’s larger effort to assess political developments in the country following the president declared a state of emergency and dissolved the parliament. The Carter Center has been working to support democracy in Tunisia since 2011.
