Event Overview:
In this practical and interactive workshop, participants will explore concrete strategies for advancing democratic participation in their work. Through a mix of short presentations and small group discussions, they will engage with three key questions, each focused on a different challenge to mainstreaming and strengthening democratic participation:
1. How can we build the capacity of governments and organizations to meaningfully integrate public participation in the development of policies and programs? Featuring insights from the Public Maturity Model.
2. What narratives can inspire greater public support for democratic participation, and how can we use them effectively? Drawing from the first report of Democracy Narratives Campaign.
3. How can participation tools reduce social divisions and renew democratic culture? Informed by recent research on depolarization.
By the end of the session, participants will gain new strategies and tools for mainstreaming participation and inspiring greater engagement in democratic decision-making.
