AfP Book Talk: The End of Violence: Eliminating the World’s Most Dangerous Epidemic

On Tuesday, May 5th at 12pm ET, please join AfP for a virtual book talk with Dr. Gary Slutkin, Founder of Cure Violence Global, formerly with the World Health Organization, to discuss his new book, The End of Violence: Eliminating the World’s Most Dangerous Epidemic. The book serves as a platform for the peacebuilding field to share the message that violence can be stopped and shows us this is being done. It highlights a new understanding of violence, not in terms of bad people, but as a change within a person, group, or country because of exposure and other circumstances, describes how it spreads in our minds, and gives practical guidance on how to stop it. Gary will provide an overview of the book’s key ideas, findings, and recommendations, and attendees will be able to ask questions and offer reflections on the book’s meaning within their own work.
