Democracy is eroding with weak signals – Where is the hope in the midst of crises?

The state of democracy has been deteriorating globally for the second decade. How can we make Finland an exception, where democracy also creates hope for the future of young people? The International Day of Democracy seminar will delve into the development of democracy and the future possibilities of stronger democracy. In the seminar, we will hear from Marina Nord, a postdoctoral researcher at the Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) Institute at the University of Gothenburg , as well as members of parliament and youth politicians from different parliamentary parties. The seminar will be hosted by journalist Viivi Berghem. The event will have program sections in both English and Finnish.
