Last call for nominations for the Mark Palmer Prize awarded by our Coalition Partner, Freedom House, which is awarded annually to diplomats or public officials around the world who have gone above and beyond in promoting democracy and human rights. The prize honors the legacy of U.S. Ambassador Mark Palmer, who played a courageous role in supporting Hungary’s democratic transition, and it recognizes individuals in public service who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, impact, and commitment to democratic values.
Freedom House is currently accepting nominations and is eager to receive more proposals from across the global democracy community. The prize recognizes diplomats or public officials who have made an outstanding contribution to advancing democracy and human rights. Nominations may be submitted by any individual or organization with knowledge of a qualifying candidate’s work, with the one caveat that governments are asked not to nominate their own officials. The deadline is 31 January, 2026.
