Call for proposals! As we gear up for the Global Democracy Coalition Forum 2024, the GDC would like to extend an invitation to organizations and companies to help develop and launch a GDC advocacy campaign titled ‘The Voice and Value of Democracy,’ as well as to help organize regional fora for the 2024 GDC Forum.
Advocacy Campaign: The Voices and Value of Democracy
The objective of this initiative is to reshape the narrative on democracy, emphasizing its positive aspects and creating greater awareness of its inherent value, benefits, and comparative advantages. With a specific focus on engaging the youth demographic, the primary goals include enhancing youth understanding of the intrinsic value and benefits of democracy, as well as showcasing the universal nature of democracy across various regions and cultures.
Applications for the GDC advocacy campaign are open to both members and non-members of the GDC.
GDC Forum 2024: Regional Fora
Scheduled for the second week of March 2024, the GDC Forum 2024 is designed as a week-long celebration of democracy, bringing together a diverse array of organizations, policymakers, and advocates from around the world. Central to this celebration are regional dialogues, with each region spotlighted over a dedicated day, providing an invaluable opportunity to delve into regional perspectives on democracy. We invite GDC partners to take the lead in hosting the regional dialogue for their respective regions. The four selected organization will play a crucial role in shaping the discussions around the democratic narrative within their region and contributing to the global discourse on democracy. Through carefully curated sessions, we aim to explore the unique democratic challenges and opportunities of each region, fostering dialogue that will influence the third Summit for Democracy and contribute to the GDC’s Advocacy Campaign.
Applications for the GDC Regional Fora are open to GDC members only.
Proposals should be submitted as a comprehensive package, including a letter of interest, proposal, and a brief budget by 8 January 2024 to Elisenda Balleste-Buxo (e.ballestebuxo@idea.int) with Anna Koviazina (a.koviazina@idea.int) in copy.
