Populist Threats: Building Democratic Resilience with Participatory Communities
The Municipality of Valongo and the Technical Secretariat of the IOPD invite you to submit your proposals of sessions or interventions for the 2024 IOPD Conference: “Populist Threats: Building Democratic Resilience with Participatory Communities.”
From 17 to 19 October, the City of Valongo will welcome local and regional leaders of participatory democracy from all over the world to identify mechanisms to better defend communities from authoritarian drifts based on disinformation, typical of some populist phenomena.
To submit your proposals, please complete this online form by 2 June. You can submit your proposals for individual 10 or 20-minute presentations, closed panel/round tables, and workshops in populisms, civic tech, participation, Ttransparency and open government, artificial intelligence and disinformation, inclusion and diversity, urban management and public space, or ecological transition and environment.
