EDYN Webinar: Youth Perspectives on the Future of Georgia and Moldova in 2025

Democracy in Georgia and Moldova is under threat. Albeit facing different challenges, youth in both countries have been impacted by the effects of foreign interference in their respective elections, media landscapes and national discourses. Georgian and Moldovan youth are at the frontline of the fight for democracy, human rights, and freedom of expression. In Georgia especially, our EDYN members have bravely taken to the streets in the last few months, denouncing the government’s authoritarian drift and attacks on civil society. In Moldova, EDYN members played an active role in encouraging higher voter turnout during the 2024 referendum on the country’s European Union membership.

Join EDYN for an exclusive discussion on how young people are fighting for democratic principles in Georgia and Moldova at a time of disinformation, malign foreign interference and threats to the civic space. During the webinar, you will hear from two EDYN Alumni: Georgian activist, Salome Mgeladze and Moldovan civil society leader, Natalia Slepuhin. Ambassador Alison Kelly, an EDYN Board of Trustees member, will moderate the webinar. There will be much time given for Q&A where you can join the discussion, have your questions answered and contribute your own insight into this important conversation, which will be held under Chatham House Rule.
