On March 8, the Kettering Foundation will celebrate International Women’s Day by partnering with Dayton Live for a free screening of Let Ohio Women Vote, a documentary produced by ThinkTV and CET, at 1:00 p.m. at the Victoria Theatre. The film tells the story of the long fight for women’s suffrage in our state, a fight which created unpredictable alliances. Following the film, there will be a panel discussion featuring KF Senior Fellow Maureen O’Connor, retired chief justice of the Supreme Court of Ohio and former lieutenant governor. Other panel participants include Ann Rotolante, who wrote and directed the film, and Rachel Sussman, producer of the Tony Award-winning musical SUFFS.
In conjunction with this event, an exhibition created by Ohio History Connection, “Ohio Women Vote: 100 Years of Change,” will be on display. In addition, members of the League of Women Voters of the Greater Dayton Area will be present to register voters and provide information about the upcoming primary election. Attendance is free, but tickets must be reserved.
