The Gender Apartheid: Implications for the Arts, Sports, and Cultural Activities

Gender apartheid—the systemic oppression of women—impacts every aspect of society. In Afghanistan, women and girls are barred from participating in the arts, sports, and cultural activities. Join us on September 5 to explore the implications during the 12th Unifying Our Voices convening at Counterpart’s DC office.

The hybrid event, in partnership with Eurasia Foundation, will open with a panel discussion featuring speakers representing the arts, sports, and cultural activities. Afterwards, we will screen award-winning Afghan filmmaker Roya Sadat’s “A Letter to the President,” who will then sit down for a Q&A.
