International IDEA, the International Development Research Centre, Canada (IDRC), and the Trust, Inclusion and Accountability Collaborative (TAI) are hosting a high-level side event “Support for Democracy in a New Geopolitical Context” to commemorate International IDEA’s 30th anniversary alongside the UN’s 80th in the margins of the High-Level Week of the 80th Session of the General Assembly. The event will take place on Thursday, 25 September, from 15:00 to 17:00, at the Ford Foundation in New York. Light coffee and registration will begin at 14:30.
This side event will bring together International IDEA and its Member States, along with representatives from philanthropy, multilateral organizations, and a selected number of civil society and think tank representatives, to reflect on the shifting global landscape for democracy and explore how support for democracy can be reimagined in response to new geopolitical realities.
