International Youth Think Tank’s World Youth Openness and Democracy Summit

This month, our Coalition Partner the International Youth Think Tank ran their second edition of the World Youth Openness and Democracy Summit, in Gothenburg, Sweden! They welcomed 20 Youth Fellows to their annual event reviving the foundational spirit of their organization. This year they strengthened their collaboration with Gothia Cup, the world largest youth football tournament with the World United 2026 pavillion at Heden centre where Youth Fellows drew inspiration from interviews with athletes, coaches and families to set up an exhibitory space reflecting on the links between football, democracy and society. They took to the streets of Gothenburg to run Neighborhooding Democracy, the participatory method we started developing a year ago on this same occasion. They ran their signature Open Chair Democracy Talks at Kviberg Park where the majority of Gothia Cup matches happen, the beating heart of the event.

A key activity associated with the task force is a Defense Tech Trilateral that GMF will convened on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in Ankara, a unique setting for elevated discussion spanning governments, the private sector, and experts.
