With the United Nations General Assembly Week in full swing this week, we wanted to share this video interview with Yukio Takasu (Former Permanent Representative of Japan to the United Nations; Chair, JCIE Study Team on the Democracy for the Future) from the second meeting of the Sunnylands Initiative on Enhancing Democratic in the Indo-Pacific. Ambassador Takasu shared his thoughts on democratic backsliding and stressed the need for innovative solutions and Asian-led initiatives free from foreign interference, in the fight for democracy in Asia.
