Contextualizing Social and Behavioral Science: A Case Study in Liberia

As part of its inclusive development strategy, Democracy International (DI) works closely with its partners in EDA to develop a communications strategy to encourage Liberian citizens, especially women and youth, to engage with the democratic process. The objective is not just to raise awareness but also to change behaviors by using SBS insights to communicate the value of civic engagement. EDA used these insights as a starting point, yet soon discovered that there were not enough data to adapt SBS interventions and know what messages would resonate in the Liberian context.
