On November 15th AfP hosted the Digital Peacebuilding Community of Practice for a discussion with Jamie Arkin from AIfluence (a Kenyan start-up) on how AIfluence flipped the “influencer” model on its head by working with regular people on Media—using their own creativity and authentic voices—to promote peace and fight Disinformation across Media platforms. Jamie talked about how AIfluence uses AI and how they are creating a circular-communication economy, collecting rapid feedback, and building peer-to-peer communication strategies at scale across Africa and India. They shared their experience using Media “AIfluencers” to improve civic education and promote peace around the 2022 Kenyan Election.
