The Economic Inclusion Group is a policy organization advancing economic opportunity and financial inclusion globally, especially in the United States and the European Single Market.
Our primary focus is to advocate for the reform of AML/CFT regulations (anti-money laundering and countering terrorism financing). These regulations are (1) causing the financial exclusion of vulnerable groups, including immigrants, entrepreneurs, and politically exposed persons, (2) imposing unreasonable costs and risks for businesses, and (3) allowing regimes to suppress dissidents transnationally by freezing bank accounts and surveilling personal information. If we don’t reform these laws, they will continue undermining the rule of law and the market economy of the United States.
Additionally, we create opportunities for young leaders to be heard in economic policy decisions. By empowering the next generation of economists and innovators, we are building the foundation for more competitive and open economies, which is essential to revitalize the trust young people have in democracy. To this end, we also design spaces of cooperation between young leaders, industry experts, and policymakers, so they can discuss the role of new technologies and emerging challenges.
