Founded in 1946 by veteran New York Times correspondent Clarence Streit, Freedom & Union has chronicled the origins and growth of Euro-Atlantic institutions and provided a home for their initiatives. The policy of Freedom & Union is to think, write, and act always in terms of all the democratic world, and not of any country in it.
