This paper is the result of a need that we as Otros Cruces witnessed when addressing issues that intersect concepts of religion and politics. During our work with organized civil society organizations, we have seen that there is a lack of clarity about certain basic definitions of complex concepts within the field of religious beliefs, but which we have all heard or are familiar with.
