This documents highlights The Carter Center’s health programs, and how these fill vacuums in global health, helping to prevent needless suffering and build hope for millions of the world’s poorest people. The Center fights six preventable diseases—Guinea worm, river blindness, trachoma, schistosomiasis, lymphatic filariasis, and malaria—by using health education and simple, low-cost methods. The Center also strives to improve access to mental health care.
