How the International Community Can Help Establish Pathways Toward Sustainable Peace in Cameroon’s “Forgotten” Civil War

This post analyses how to date, the civil war has displaced nearly 800,000 Cameroonians and killed more than 7,000. This year, 2021, has been the bloodiest for Cameroon security forces in the two English-speaking regions of the country. Yet, the international community has done little to recognize the existence of the worsening civil war, which has been dubbed “the world’s most neglected displacement crisis.” Peace cannot come fast enough for Cameroonians who have suffered five years of violence.
