The substantial part of the research is presented in chapters IV, V and VI. The first of these chapters examines in detail the real situation of the economic and social rights of Nicaraguans, based on the most relevant figures available. Chapter VI reviews two cases that illustrate the relationship between corruption and the exercise of DES, based on the consideration that they are not isolated cases, but rather expressions of one of the inherent features of the model that has been imposed in Nicaragua.
Chapter V presents findings that outline the dimensions of specific problems that emerged throughout the research and that could not be covered in this first effort in accordance with their significance: The condition of women , the Caribbean Coast, teenage pregnancies and forced displacements. However, the data provided are a sufficient starting point for new research projects.
These three chapters are preceded (chapter II) by a description of the national context, the main characteristics and evolution of the domination model and the current situation. Chapter III offers a review of the conceptual and regulatory references that serve as a framework for the exercise: international conventions and domestic legislation. The final chapter states the most significant conclusions.
