Over the past decade, Ukraine has undergone a profound transformation from a closed post-Soviet oligarchy to an open society striving for democracy and European integration. The 2014 Revolution of Dignity marked a turning point, leading to significant reforms aimed at combating corruption and decentralizing governance. The government, supported by civil society and foreign partners, established specialized anti-corruption agencies and implemented transparent systems across the political and economic spheres.
Despite facing challenges, including Russian aggression and setbacks to transparency during martial law, Ukraine has remained committed to its reform agenda. As it prepares to rebuild after the devastating impact of the Russian invasion, the government has reorganized infrastructure-related departments and agencies to ensure accountability and coordination. While much work lies ahead, Ukraine’s journey towards democracy and accountability continues, propelled by the determination to overcome obstacles and secure a European future.
