The present world order, centered on the nation-state, is unlikely to achieve universal freedom, justice, equality, or sustainable ecological balance. This is primarily because it prioritizes governmental agendas over the democratically expressed will of the global populace, rendering it fundamentally undemocratic. The inherent flaw of this system lies in its inability to represent individual human beings fairly, as seen in the disproportionate influence of minority votes in leading democracies like the US and UK. Furthermore, the United Nations’ power structure, dominated by the vetoes of the US, China, and Russia, exacerbates this unfairness. This setup highlights a governance system where “might is right,” undermining both global democracy and effective, equitable decision-making. As a result, the current “liberal world order” is neither genuinely liberal nor globally representative.
