Resilient Funding and the Localization Agenda

PartnersGlobal has worked with over 200 organizations to assess their organizational resiliency over the past 3 years. What has surfaced has been a resounding message that no matter how much organizational strengthening and risk mitigation is achieved, the most consistent threat to civil society sustainability is a funding system that is designed for international implementors and does not reflect realistic expectations, geopolitical challenges, capacity, culture and language differences of civil society organizations on the ground. Launched as a working group within our Resiliency Roundtable series, those gathered for this workshop will propose concrete actions to demonstrate commitments to collective investments, democratized processes, and unconventional fund transfer mechanisms to achieve a localized grant giving process reflecting real needs, challenges, and contexts.
