On May 30, around 500 far-right activists and their supporters traveled to Porto, Portugal, for the second annual Remigration Summit. Speakers focused on implementing policies of “remigration,” a call for ethnic cleansing which involves the forced removal of immigrants, refugees, and even citizens based on race, ethnicity, or perceived cultural belonging in their respective countries. The conference drew several American speakers and attendees, namely former Border Patrol Chief Gregory Bovino, who oversaw Trump’s mass deportation operation from October 2025 to January 2026. Bovino’s tenure was made infamous by the fatal shootings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, two American citizens, by agents under his watch.
