This document discusses how the interests of women are poorly represented in Vietnam’s government. As Vietnam does not allow for free and fair elections, this closed system further biases against women and girls. To have the most impact on this issue to best bolster our democracy promotion globally, we believe that the USG needs to focus its diplomatic efforts in this year of action to assist CSOs in their efforts to educate women and girls of their rights and opportunities.
