EPD is a not-for-profit organization with a global remit to support democracy, that brings together a network of 18 organizations specializing in the different parts of a democratic system. EPD actively works towards improving democracy support policies through advocacy, pushes the boundaries of democratic thinking through research, and brings together the expertise of specialists from various sectors of democracy support, from parliamentary support to civic tech, through joint programmes to create political dialogue and behavioural change.
EPD is a membership organization with 18 members who are democracy support organizations that actively support the S4D: the European Association for Local Democracy (ALDA), ARTICLE 19, CFI (Agence française de développement medias), the Club de Madrid (CdM), Danish Institute for Parties and Democracy (DIPD), Demo Finland, Democracy Reporting International (DRI), the EDGE Foundation, elbarlament, Election-Watch.eu, European Exchange, the Kofi Annan Foundation (KAF), the Netherlands Helsinki Committee (NHC), the Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy (NIMD), The Oslo Center, People in Need, the Instituto de estudos politicos at The Catholic University of Portugal (UCP), and the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD).
