Pacto pela Democracia is a civil society coalition whose mission is to coordinate and strengthen Brazil’s pro-democracy ecosystem, with the goal of countering authoritarian threats, defending the Democratic Rule of Law, and revitalizing the country’s democratic environment by improving institutional functioning and promoting values and practices that foster democratic coexistence in Brazilian society. Formed by more than 200 civil society organizations, Pacto is a nonpartisan and ideologically plural platform that brings together and mobilizes diverse social actors united by their commitment to democracy. Internationally, Pacto has become a recognized reference for its work in defending and improving democracy, establishing itself as a relevant actor in strengthening the global pro-democracy movement.
