Women’s Leadership in Peace, Democracy, and Political Transitions in the Horn of Africa.
Amid historic political transitions and complex conflicts in the Horn of Africa, women are playing a crucial role in efforts to reach peace agreements and set foundations for democratic governments in the region. Join USIP, on Monday March 27, at 1:00 PM for a conversation on the role of women’s inclusion and participation in advancing democratic political transitions and achieving sustainable peace. USIP will host two prominent women, peace and security champions from the Horn of Africa to discuss the need to increase women’s inclusion and participation in post-conflict resolution processes and in democratic political transitions.
