On the occasion of International Day of Democracy 2025, SERAC-Bangladesh, with the support of CIVICUS, organized a special Peace Adda that brought together young people to raise their voices, exchange ideas, and share perspectives in an open and engaging dialogue.
The central theme of the discussion was ensuring equal opportunities for all in society—a timely and crucial issue in today’s democratic journey. The adda explored how young people can play an active role in shaping inclusive, peaceful, and fair systems that truly reflect the spirit of democracy.
Key topics of discussion included:
- Active youth participation in democracy
- Youth-led initiatives for peace
- Building equal and inclusive societies
- Ensuring fair and transparent voting processes
Throughout the conversation, participants emphasized that democracy is not just about casting votes—it is about creating spaces where every individual, regardless of background, has equal rights, access, and opportunities.
The Peace Adda was more than just a discussion. It became a platform for commitment, inspiration, and action. Young voices echoed the urgency of working together to build a future that is constructive, equitable, and democratic.
As the world celebrates International Day of Democracy, this initiative reminded us that the strength of democracy lies in the active participation of its people—especially the youth—who are the torchbearers of change.
