Surveillance and Privacy: Safeguarding CSOs in the Age of Digital Threats

In our digital world, concerns about privacy and freedom online grow alongside advancements. Digital rights, like privacy and free speech, are crucial in this era of constant connectivity. Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) play a vital role as watchdogs, protecting these rights against intrusive surveillance. However, government surveillance and privacy violations threaten the very work of CSOs. This session explores the impact of such surveillance bills on CSOs and their ability to function. By examining challenges and solutions, participants will gain insights into how CSOs can navigate this complex digital rights landscape.

This event is part of a year-long program on Digital Rights for CSOs in Asia-Pacific, co-organized by Asia Centre and Google Asia Pacific.
